Charity of the Year!

The Communiqué Awards champions communication in the healthcare industry. We were shortlisted this year (for Ellie's Friends) against some stiff competition - the other finalists in our charity were Beating Bowel Cancer, The Brain Tumour Charity, Genetic Alliance UK and Pancreatic Cancer Action.

The awards ceremony took place at Grosvenor House Ballroom on 7th July and were presented by comedian Jason Manford.

Our award was one of the last of the night...Charity of the Year 2016. And to our utter shock...we won!

The judges said:

"We loved the Eleanor Rose Foundation’s simplicity and the clarity of its objectives, not to mention its impressive use of resources and the consequent benefits for patients. Ellie’s Friends focuses on a very specific method of distribution and, given that it is a very new, very small organisation, should be given particular credit for the effectiveness of its corporate engagement work, which is extremely go-getting."

We were delighted to have the work of our small charity recognised by such an esteemed panel of judges. With new offers being added and new service users joining every day, not to mention signups to our amazing Ellie's Army volunteering force, we are feeling very optimistic about the future and continuing the work that we do.

The Award joins our 2016 QiC Oncology award (Cancer Charity Initiative of the Year) in our cabinet. Thank you to Oxford PharmaGenesis for the donation of £1,000 following our recent win.
